Michelin Appoints New North American President and Chairman of the Board of Directors

French tire manufacturer Michelin has announced that Richard Wilkerson, president and chairman of the company’s North American region, will retire at the end of 2011. At the same time, the company said that Pete Sellebeck, president of its global truck tire business, will be Wilkerson’s successor.

It is understood that Wilkerson has served as president and chairman of the board of directors of the company's North America region since August 2008. As of now, he has served at Michelin for 31 years. After retiring, he will serve as the Honorary Chairman of Michelin North America.

At the same time, Wilkeson's successor, Selebek, has also been with Michelin for 29 years. Since January 2006, he has served as president of the company's global truck tire business. He is currently at the company's headquarters in Clermont-Ferrand. (CLERMONT-FERRAND), after taking office, will go to Greenville, South Carolina, to start a new job.
