It is understood that the new plant is expected to have a designed capacity of 400,000 tons/year of phenol and 250,000 tons/year of acetone, which will be the largest capacity of similar projects in China. Ineos Phenol Co., Ltd. recently stated that the company has signed a letter of intent with Yangzi Petrochemical Company, a subsidiary of Sinopec, to form a joint venture company to build and operate a phenol/acetone plant in Nanjing Chemical Industry Park, China.
