The State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication, Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences has made a series of advances in the preparation of fluorinated graphene and its performance studies. At present, a conventional method for synthesizing fluorinated graphene is to fluorinate graphene prepared using micro mechanical stripping or chemical vapor deposition using a fluorinating agent such as cesium difluoride. However, the use of expensive, highly toxic fluorinated reagents has greatly limited the widespread use of this method. The research group of the institute's researcher Wang Jinqing used commercial fluorinated graphite as a raw material, using inexpensive N-methylpyrrolidone as an intercalation reagent, and achieved high quality fluorinated graphene by simple heat and ultrasonic treatment. In addition, the researchers also found that ultrasound can regulate the fluorine content in fluorinated graphene. At the same time, some physicochemical properties of fluorinated graphene were systematically studied.
