MacGregor joins Maersk to jointly develop the next generation container security system

Recently, Finnish manufacturer Cargotec's MacGregor has signed an agreement with Danish Maersk Line to jointly develop the next-generation container security system.
Leif Bystrom, senior vice president of cargo handling at MacGregor, said, "As ship sizes continue to increase, shipowners' demand for improved operational efficiency continues to grow."
Ole Graa Jakobsen, vice president and head of technical operations at Maersk Line, said, "McGiga has long been a leading supplier of container security systems. With MacGregor providing us with continuous security services, we will continue to improve on ocean transportation. Competitiveness."
In June 2015, Maersk Line ordered 11 second-generation "3E" container ships with a single transport capacity of 19,630 TEU, built by Daewoo Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., with a construction contract value of $1.8 billion. At the same time, Maersk Line also disclosed plans to invest $15 billion in newbuildings, ship modifications, containers and other equipment to replace inefficient ships to meet global demand.
