Linear Technology Corporation has introduced two 400mA synchronous step-up DC/DC converters, the LTC3525-3.3 and the LTC3525-5. The device operates from an input voltage range of 1V to 4.5V. The LTC3525-3.3 provides a fixed 3.3V output and the LTC3525-5 provides a fixed 5V output. The LTC3525-3.3 is capable of delivering 140mA of continuous output current through two AA alkaline batteries. The LTC3525-5 provides a 5V output voltage and 175mA output current from a single 3V input.
