Evinrude launches iDock joystick pilot system
It is reported that the iDock joystick pilot system is the latest product of Evinrude Intelligent Navigation System. The product features a range of Evinrude E-TEC G2 engines that make the ship easier and more intuitive to operate.
Existing configurations include iSteer Integrated Power Steering, iTrim Auto Leveling System, iControl Control Digital Shift and Throttle Valve, and iLink Mobile Display Interface, all of which help to eliminate the uncertainty of operating a ship and help users to ship Full control with the engine.
Evinrude's new iDock joystick piloting system with dual Evinrude E-TEC G2 engines with 150 to 300 horsepower will help users easily berth the ship with one joystick in the most difficult situations. The joystick piloting system will help the user to avoid the ship or to make a rotary motion in situ under the control of the fingertip.
According to Evinrude, this advanced aircraft gyro sensor technology will make the iDock joystick pilot system more intuitively piloted by automatically compensating for wind and surge. If additional power is required to overcome wind and surge, the crew can simply push the joystick further into the position that expands the double thrust.
Due to the simplicity of the iDock joystick pilot system, less time is required to adapt to better first-hand experience. A fully integrated system iDock joystick piloting system will interface with the internal hydraulic steering characteristics of the existing Evinrude E-TEC G2 engine, reducing part cost, eliminating beam clutter and freeing up valuable storage space.
In addition, the iDock joystick pilot system will affect the existing E-TEC G2 engine structure. In order to minimize installation time, the iDock joystick pilot system module will be installed on the water using the same installation procedure as the Evinrude E-TEC G2 engine. The typical time will be less than an hour. The Evinrude E-TEC G2 iDock module engine will be available in Paris in the fall of 2017.
