2010 Renault Automobiles to produce 2.6 million vehicles worldwide

According to the French Le Figaro report on the 13th, 2010 will be a good year for the Renault Group, and not what was expected in the past was a "difficult year." In February of next year, Renault Group will release its 2010 operating results. On Thursday, Renault’s president told the media that the group’s production is expected to reach 2.6 million units this year, exceeding 2.3 million in 2009. The best record in recent years was 25.3 million vehicles in 2005.

2010 net profit is expected to reach 3.3 billion euros, close to the 2005 level, is the best year in the past decade, while in 2009 it lost 3.1 billion euros. In response, Renault’s president Carlos Ghosn said with excitement that “we will achieve the best proportion of net income in the automotive industry as a percentage of turnover”. Renault expects turnover of about 38 billion euros in 2010 and 33.7 billion euros in 2009.

The report said that Renault’s 1.3 billion euros in net profit this year comes from the group itself, Renault’s share of Nissan, Volvo, Russia’s Avtovaz, and another 2 billion euros from the sale of 15% of the shares in Volvo heavy trucks.
