The Ministry of Environmental Protection's 2015 Annual Report on the Prevention and Control of Motor Vehicle Pollution in China pointed out that motor vehicle pollution has become an important source of air pollution in China, and is an important cause of haze and photochemical smog pollution. With environmental protection and eco-construction becoming more and more important to the government and the public, how to reduce motor vehicle pollution is particularly important. 
During the two sessions this year, several NPC deputies called for national policies to support cleaner and more environmentally friendly LNG trucks, including proposals for LNG truck highway tolls at half-price, LNG trucks at higher prices than diesel vehicles to be subsidized by national finance, and for natural gas. The liquefaction plant, dock receiving station, storage and distribution station, gas station tax relief, linkage of oil and gas prices, reduction of natural gas prices, simplified approval procedures for gas stations, and other proposals have been widely discussed. At present, Shanxi Province has already levied a half-price charge on tolls or other charges on natural gas vehicle highways, which has contributed to the explosive growth of LNG trucks.
