Severe floods in parts of Shandong

Affected by the torrential rains in Shandong Province in recent days, severe floods occurred in 33 counties (cities, districts) and six development zones in 8 cities including Liaocheng and Dezhou in Shandong, and some of the river sections suffered major dangers.

According to the new statistics of the Shandong Provincial Civil Affairs Bureau, as of the 13th, the affected population in Shandong was 3.518 million people, the emergency resettlement population was 245,000, and the direct economic loss was 2.377 billion yuan. On the 14th, the rainfall in Shandong continued, and the pressure for flood control was further increased.

Since August 8th, heavy rains, partial heavy rain and heavy rains have occurred in parts of Luxi, Lubei and Luzhonghe Peninsulas, and thunderstorms and windy winds have accompanied parts of the region. Serious floods occurred in 33 counties (cities, districts) and 6 development zones in Liaocheng, Dezhou, Binzhou, Jinan, Tai'an, Yantai, Zibo, and Dongying. Among them, Liaocheng and Texas suffered severe damage.

On the evening of the 13th, there were 17 embankments in the Zhaoniu New River, a tributary of the Tuohe River in the city of Dezhou, Texas, and the Flood Prevention and Drought Relief Headquarters of the People's Government of Shandong Province dispatched flood relief materials from the province urgently. According to the Flood Prevention and Drought Relief Headquarters of the People's Government of Shandong Province, affected by heavy rainfall, as of 10 o'clock on August 14th, the water level at the gate of the Liuqiaozha hydrological station on the Tuotuo River was 25.02 meters, and the warning level was 0.25 meters; the Baiheguan Gate of Dehui New River The water level at the gate of the hydrological station is 4.43 meters, and the warning level is 0.27 meters.

In addition, there are five large and medium-sized reservoirs in Shandong Province that are overrun and are using drainage holes to regulate flood discharge. The water level of Hunan Yangshuiwen Station at the upper level of Nansihu Lake is 34.32 meters, and the limit of water level is 0.12 meters. At 10:24 on the 14th, the second gate of the second dam was opened, and the discharge flow was 530 cubic meters per second.
