Quality inspection results of transportation products

Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Transport issued the “Circular on the Results of Supervision and Inspection of Transportation Products Quality in 2014” (referred to as the “Announcement”). The spot check included 418 batches of 191 production companies, 50 supply companies, and 9 maintenance companies. Samples of 456 batches were collected, and the overall sampling pass rate was 84.7%.

The spot check adopts two methods: unified national spot checks and ministry joint inspections. The nationwide random inspection ranged from 9 types of products such as asphalt used in roads and highway engineering geotextiles entering the national transportation construction and transportation market. The ministry's joint spot checks conducted pilot projects in five provinces including Shanxi, Liaoning, Zhejiang, Fujian, and Sichuan. Random inspections included five types of road asphalt and highway engineering geotextiles used for traffic construction in the province.

The spot checks conducted spot checks on products related to 64 highways in 20 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) including Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, as well as automobile engine coolant products of eight production companies, with random inspection conditions. A total of 127 batches of products from 21 expressways were sampled for spot-checks, accounting for 33.0% of the number of sampled roads and 31.7% of the sampled batches.
