South Korean automotive automatic transmission first entered the Chinese market

SAIC Motor recently signed a contract with South Korea's Daewoo International (trading company) for the import of automatic transmissions from South Korea. This is the first time China has imported automotive automatic transmissions from South Korea. This contract is manufactured by OEM (using the orderer's trademark for production). The delivery period is 2 years. There are 20,000 automatic transmissions and the total value is US$20 million.

Daewoo Auto Parts Manufacturing Company believes that most of the cars currently produced in China are manual gearboxes. The Shanghai Automotive Group will first mass-produce automobiles equipped with automatic transmissions, which will result in a chain reaction in China’s auto manufacturers. It is expected that China will automatically The demand for gearboxes will increase substantially. Daewoo can now use Shanghai as a bridge to further expand the export volume of auto transmissions to China.

Daewoo Auto Parts Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was founded in 1984 and currently exports auto parts to three major auto companies in the United States, including 35 automakers in the world. Last year, the company’s auto parts exports amounted to 470 million U.S. dollars, accounting for 15% of the total exports of auto parts in South Korea. The production technologies and processes of parts such as Daewoo’s automatic transmissions are mainly imported from the United States.
