Recently, the United States PPG Industry Corporation announced that PPG headquarters and its Colombian subsidiary have completed the acquisition of the coating business of Colpisa Colombiana de Pinturas and its affiliates (including the branch company of Colpisa Ecuador). Previously, both parties announced the signing of the acquisition agreement on August 11, 2011. 
Tim Knavish, vice president of automotive original paint at PPG Americas, said: “PPG is pleased to have successfully completed the acquisition of Colpisa and expects that PPG will be able to expand its coating business in the Colombian market and provide quality services to local customers and grow with them.â€
Knavish said that after the acquisition of Colpisa, PPG has become the only large-scale multinational coating supplier in Colombia that has an automotive original paint production base, and has embarked on a leading supplier list of a full range of automotive refinish products and mature sales networks in Colombia.
