Industrial logistics guidance is making tax cuts on the agenda

Recently, it was learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that as an important measure of “steady growth”, “Guiding Opinions on Doing a Good Job in Logistics and Supply Chain Management in the Industrial Sector” is intensifying. At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will also promote the implementation of tax cuts for the logistics industry this year.

Since the second half of last year, due to the economic situation at home and abroad, China's economic growth has declined. To this end, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has identified the “steady growth” of the industrial economy as the direction of work for 2012. The MIIT survey found that industrial logistics is an essential part of industrial production. In the total logistics volume of the whole society, the logistics of industrial products accounts for about 90%; in the manufacturing process of industrial products, about 90% of the time is spent on logistics links such as warehousing and transportation.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stressed that "supply chain management is an organic part of industrial economic operation and industrial enterprise management, and directly affects the increase in industrial operating costs and the core competitiveness of enterprises."

To this end, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Supervision and Coordination Bureau recently held a "Workshop on Industrial Logistics and Supply Chain Management" in Beijing. The meeting carried out exchanges on the logistics and supply chain management in the industrial fields in all provinces and cities across the country, researched and discussed the next steps in the logistics and supply chain management in the industrial sector, and discussed and revised the “About the logistics in the industrial sector”. According to sources from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will organize demonstration work in some regions this year on the basis of the development of guidance. At the same time, according to the “Opinions on Promoting the Healthy Development of the Logistics Industry” issued by the General Office of the State Council in August last year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will also promote the implementation of relevant measures, including tax cuts for logistics companies and reduction of overpass fees.

Industry insiders pointed out that taxes and tolls have always been a heavy burden on logistics companies, and related measures will allow direct costs of logistics companies to drastically drop and increase the profitability of enterprises.
