Chrysler accelerates domestic sales of 40,000 cars this year

According to Reuters, Chrysler executives of US automakers revealed that Chrysler is actively looking for the possibility of producing more cars in China, and the company plans to sell 40,000 cars in the Chinese market in 2011.

It is understood that Chrysler Motors plans to put its models into production at its partner Fiat's Chinese joint venture plant. Mike Manley, head of the Jeep brand at Chrysler Automotive, said: “Looking for a partner, then negotiating and negotiating, and eventually obtaining approval from the Chinese government is a long process, and it is much more convenient to work with Fiat to put cars in China.”

In cooperation with GAC Fiat, Chrysler will accelerate the production of Chrysler models in China. It was previously reported that Guangzhou Automobile and Fiat reached an agreement after negotiations, Chrysler will put into production at the GAC Fiat joint venture plant models, plans to produce 200,000 cars per year. In 2010, Chrysler sold 31,000 cars in the Chinese market.

GAC Fiat once announced the plan for a joint venture factory in 2010. The first phase of the Changsha plant with a total investment of about RMB 5 billion will form an annual production capacity of 140,000 vehicles and an annual output of 220,000 engines. According to market demand, it will strive to form an annual sales volume of 250,000-300,000 vehicles in 2014-2015.

It is reported that Fiat currently holds a 46% stake in Chrysler. After purchasing the 6% stake in the US government, Fiat Auto will hold a 52% stake in Chrysler.
